The Government of Nunavut is enhancing seven community airports—Gjoa Haven, Kugaaruk, Kugluktuk, Taloyoak, Arviat, Grise Fiord, and Pond Inlet—with shelters to protect airport maintenance equipment from the harsh elements. At five locations—Gjoa Haven, Kugaaruk, Kugluktuk, Taloyoak, and Pond Inlet—these shelters will also include warehouse spaces designed to receive, store, and ship goods, along with service counters to support local businesses and the community.

This project aims to foster economic growth by offering flexible space for logistics services. The project is designed to withstand the harshest conditions while remaining easy to maintain, and is led by Asher Engineering Ltd. with CYNC Architecture as the architectural consultant.
